Belated Tuesday

Yo I know its Wednesday and all, but I wasn't home until like midnight yesterday. So anyway, here's the quote. I decided on something sort of in the Christmas spirit:

-"Merry Christmas!"
-"Hey look- Harry's got Weasley sweater too!"
Fred and George were wearing blue sweaters, one with a large yellow F on it, the other a G.
-"Harry's is better than ours, though," said Fred, holding up Harry's sweater. "She obviously makes more of an effort if you're not family."
-"Why aren't you wearing yours, Ron?" George demanded. "Come on, get it on, they're lovely and warm.
-"I hate maroon," Ron moaned halfheartedly as he pulled it over his head.
-"You haven't got a letter on yours," George observed. "I suppose she thinks you don't forget your name. But we're not stupid-we know we're called Gred and Forge."
-"What's all this noise?"
Percy Weasley stuck his head through the door, looking disapproving. He had clearly gotten halfway through unwrapping his presents as he, too, carried a lumpy sweater over his arm, which Fred seized.
-"P for prefect! Get it on, Percy, come on, we're all wearing ours, even Harry got one."
-"I -- don't -- want said Percy thickly, as the twins forced the sweater over his head, knocking his glasses askew.
-"And you're not sitting with the prefects today, either," said George. "Christmas is a time for family."
They frog-marched Percy from the room, his arms pinned to his side by his sweater.

Have fun folks. and Happy New Year,

Monday again

Listening to: Mr. Jones by the Counting Crows
Reading:Frostbite by Richelle Mead

Hey all. I just got back from Maryland, got to go to DC and everything. Anyway, I just read the book Sovay by Celia Rees. It takes place in the late 17 hundreds and is about a young woman named Sovay Middleton. She disguises herself as a highwayman to test her fiance's love. She grows to enjoy the thrill of stealing from these men in broad daylight. But soon she steals important documents from one of the most dangerous men of her time, and finds out that her father has been arrested for sedition. Sovay finds herself drawn into London's political web of lies and espionage. All together, a good book. However, not great enough to make my top ten
Talk to you soon,

Parting Gifts (season 1)
Wesley: I'm a rogue demon hunter now.
Cordelia: Wow.
[Pause]
Cordelia: What's a rogue demon?

Tuesday!!!

Hello! I have now decided that Tuesday is Random Quote Day! And here is the quote:

"Stealing, of course, is a crime, and a very impolite thing to do. But like most impolite things, it is excusable under certain circumstances. Stealing is not excusable if, for instance, you are in a museum and you decide that a certain painting would look better in your house, and you simply grab the painting and take it there. But if you were very, very hungry, and you had no way of obtaining money, it would be excusable to grab the painting, take it to your house, and eat it." —

Heroes and French (Heros et Francais)

I am currently listening to: Bounce by the Cab
I am currently reading: The Named by Marianne Curley

Right now, I am studying for French (big huge chapter test-right before vacation!), so that I can watch Chuck and Heroes. Chuck looks good, with the episode titled "Chuck versus the Santa Claus." However, I am most excited about Heroes, though a little sad too. It is the last episode of the year, and is bound to be good. In this episode, called "Dual," Peter and Nathan find themselves at war with each other, with Nathan making a gambit that will have global repercussions. In the meantime, Sylar takes Claire, Bennet, Meredith, and Angela hostage at Primatech. Also, Matt, Daphne, and Ando are trying to save Hiro-who is stuck in the past-and Mohinder Suresh might be their only hope. This episode will also be the last of 2008. That could mean that Heroes is on again next month, or December, 31, 2009.

With this being the case, I've decided to distract myself with some useful French phrases, such as those listed below:

Bonjour-Hello
Au revoir-Goodbye

Ou est le toilettes?-Where is the bathroom?
Tu parles angalis?-Do you speak english?
Comment t'appelles-tu?-What is your name?
Je suis à la recherche de ...-I am looking for...
And now, my favorite, and by far the most useful:
Parlez-vous loup-garou?-Do you speak werewolf?

Anyway, hope these great phrases come in handy! If anyone is actually out there, thanks for stopping by! Maybe you'll leave me some comments and I will feel sooooo happy!

Ugh...

I'm sitting here waiting to watch Survivor, but I guess a football game ended late, so the next show is still on, so I'm still sitting here. I hope that Matty or Bob wins, or even Sugar. Just not Kenny. I'm very bored.

Greetings!

Hi! I'm Alex, and I'm here to tell everyone about the best books, movies, and more (those of you who read the name of this blog are probably going "duh"). I love to read, and am also a bit of a TV nerd. I can tell you the exact episode when this happened, or this person came to town, or when this other person died (for certain shows, of course). So, if anyone decides to check out this blog, I will do my best to

  1. Talk about lots of series.
  2. Take suggestions, and suggest stuff too
  3. Talk about any book that comes up, if I've read it (again, duh)
  4. Let everyone know about all the interesting upcoming books and movies (and tell you as much as I can about them)

And now for the more (can you hear the triumphant trumpets sounding? if you can't, good, because that would be crazy)

  1. Talk about lots of TV shows, such as Heroes, Supernatural, Lost, Chuck, Fringe, Survivor, Legend of the Seeker, Crusoe, and any other random one that pops into my head
  2. If I feel like it, talk about music
  3. And basically anything else that tickles my fancy on any given day.

Well, thank you for possibly taking time out of your busy schedule, or your non-busy, bored out of your mind schedule, to check this out. Hopefully, I'll talk to someone soon!

P.S. Obviously, I like to use parenthesis. And also, I do talk like this in real life. My friends tell me that they have to mentally edit me sometimes when I talk, though I'm usually making much less sense.
